Ben Lenzo is the Founder and CEO of The Perception Collective, a Sydney-based strategic consulting and technology agency. He draws on 30 years operating across games, technology and consulting. TPC is a Zoho Partner and operates across three divisions: Perception (strategic consulting and technology), Family Member Care (SaaS for families coordinating health and care information, with FMCC the provider-facing brand for NDIS and aged care operators), and Challenge The Frame (course and community for operators rebuilding how they make decisions).

Governance

Ben joined the board of Orana NSW Inc in October 2022 and was appointed Chairperson in October 2024. Orana provides disability support services across regional New South Wales.

He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD) and is currently progressing AICD's Boardroom Mastery programme. He is pursuing Non-Executive Director appointments across technology, professional services and care sectors.

Earlier Career

Ben founded Australia's largest independent video game developer in his bedroom and scaled it across three continents to an $18M international business. The studio developed original IP and produced licensed properties, with deals including MGM, Disney and other global rights holders. That era shaped his approach to scaling, partnership structures, and protecting intellectual property at commercial scale.

Writing, Frameworks and Teaching

Ben writes The Perception Check - by Ben Lenzo, a newsletter for founders, operators and directors who think operating advice should engage the question underneath the strategy rather than just optimise the strategy itself. The publication takes its name from the discipline it argues for: checking your own perception before acting on it.

The frameworks Ben introduces in the newsletter come out of that practice. These include the MAD Rules of Reinvestment, published in Issue 3 (May 2026): M = More (the same thing, larger), A = Adjacent (the same logic, new surface), D = Different (something genuinely new). Only D builds a Transformational and Compounding business. This now applies across TPC consulting engagements and board conversations.

Ben has guest lectured at the University of Sydney on ethical design and pitching, and written occasionally for the ABC and The Good Men Project on fatherhood, masculinity, and trying to be a good human.
